Dehydrated apple cinnamon rings is such an easy way to preserve fruit. These apple chips make such great snacks for the entire family. This variation is a big favorite with my kids as it has that little extra bit of sweetness. First, you need a dehydrator. Here are a few to choose from!
Emmaline’s brother absolutely adores these sweet treats. She and her sister make them every year and stock their pantries as well as their parents. When she visits she is always amazed at how many of the apples have been gone through. She figured her parents must really love the apple cinnamon chips, that was until her mother revealed it was in fact her brother that loved them so much.
Now, it is her go-to Christmas present for her brother. He always declares the gift one of his favorites.
Peel, Core, and Slice
The first step is that you want to peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/4 inch slices.
We like to use the apple corer, slicer, peeler, and then use a knife to cut through the spiral, leaving a full apple ring slice.
Dip the apples in a cinnamon-sugar mixture. (1 cup of sugar plus 1 tablespoon of cinnamon mixed together.)

Load the dehydrator trays with a layer of your sliced apples coated with cinnamon and sugar leaving a small space between each. Turn on the dehydration at 145 degrees F. Your apples will be done when they are very dry to the touch. This can take anywhere from 6 to 12 hours depending on your dehydrator, how thick your apples are, etc.
store in an airtight container
Place the dehydrated apple cinnamon rings in an airtight container and store them in a cool, dry place. Make sure you label what they are and the date you dehydrated them.
