Onion Salt is such an easy way to add flavor to your food without having to peel an onion. It is also much more kid-friendly. I love having little hacks that make the kitchen experience so much easier.

For this simple recipe, you need dehydrated or freeze-dried onions.

You will also need some salt. Use whatever kind your family prefers. Emmaline’s family likes Himalayan salt so that is what we used but any kind will do.

This can be made in either a food processor or in a blender. Place 1 cup of dry onions and 3 tablespoons of salt in your processor/blender. Chop for 1 to 2 minutes. This recipe makes 1/4-1/2 cup.

Place the mixture in an airtight container and store it in a cool, dry place. To use the, add it to any recipe you would normally add onions and salt to.
