Episode 1 - Excavation

Excavation is the first step in creating a root cellar, transforming the earth beneath your feet into a cool, natural space for storing food.

Episode 2 - Foundation

A solid foundation and sturdy stairs provide a good base to this dream root cellar.  After weeks hand excavating it is nice to see the building started.

Episode 3 - Walls

With the foundation in place, the walls begin to take shape, creating the strong, insulated structure that will form the heart of the root cellar.

Episode 4 - Roof

With the walls complete, it’s time to build the ceiling, creating a strong, insulated roof that helps protect the root cellar and maintain its cool, stable environment.

Episode 5 - Finished

After all the digging, building, and finishing touches, the root cellar is complete—a cool, sturdy space designed to naturally preserve and store the harvest.
